Absorbent Socks

Absorbent socks are long, flexible tubes designed to contain spills, prevent spread, and protect drains, walkways, and sensitive areas. They create fast, reliable spill barriers around machinery, doorways, benches, and storage zones.

Key Features
• Long, flexible design for fast spill containment • Ideal for surrounding spills and preventing spread • Protects drains and sensitive areas from contamination • Curves easily around machinery, corners, and equipment • Available in white (oil‑only), grey (universal), and yellow (chemical) • Essential for spill kits and perimeter control

Liquids Handled
Oil‑Only (White): Fuels, oils, hydrocarbons — floats and repels water
Universal (Grey): Coolants, paints, detergents, water‑based liquids, food‑grade liquids
Chemical (Yellow): Acids, alkalis, corrosives, unknown liquids
For reactive chemicals, check SDS to confirm if neutralisation is required before use

Specifications
Lengths: 1.2 mtr and 3 mtr • Material: Polypropylene • Colour‑coded: White / Grey / Yellow • Flexible design: Easily forms curves and perimeter barriers

Compliance Note:
Absorbent socks support HSWA and EPA requirements by helping workplaces contain and manage spills safely and effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Can absorbent socks be used to absorb liquid?
Yes — socks absorb liquid, but their primary purpose is containment, not high‑volume absorption.
Can socks be used on chemical spills?
Only yellow chemical socks should be used on corrosives or unknown liquids.  Do check the SDS to ensure if the spill needs to be neutralised first.  Grey socks are not suitable for acids or alkalis.
Do oil‑only socks float on water?
Yes — white oil‑only socks float and absorb hydrocarbons while repelling water.
How many socks do I need to contain a spill?
Most spills require 1–3 socks, depending on the area and spread. Large spills may require multiple socks linked end‑to‑end.
How should used socks be disposed of?
Dispose of according to the liquid absorbed and SDS guidance. Hydrocarbon‑soaked socks = oily waste. Chemical‑soaked socks = hazardous waste.
