Absorbent Pillows

Absorbent pillows are high‑capacity absorbent blocks designed to soak up larger volumes of liquid, manage persistent leaks, and absorb pooling liquid where pads and socks are not sufficient. They are ideal for placing under machinery, inside drip trays, beneath valves, and anywhere repeated leakage occurs.
Key Features
• High‑capacity absorbent design for larger spills • Ideal for pooling liquid, persistent leaks, and high‑volume drips • Perfect for drip trays, bunds, and containment areas • Suitable for confined spaces where socks won’t fit • Available in white (oil‑only), grey (universal), and yellow (chemical) • Essential for spill kits requiring high‑volume absorption
Liquids Handled
Oil‑Only (White): Fuels, oils, hydrocarbons — floats and repels water
Universal (Grey): Coolants, paints, detergents, water‑based liquids, food‑grade liquids
Chemical (Yellow): Acids, alkalis, corrosives, unknown liquids
For reactive chemicals, check SDS to confirm if neutralisation is required before use
Specifications
Material: Polypropylene • Colour‑coded: White / Grey / Yellow • High‑capacity design: Holds significantly more liquid than pads

Compliance Note:

Absorbent pillows support HSWA and EPA requirements by helping workplaces contain and manage spills safely and effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Are absorbent pillows better then pads for large spills?
Yes — pillows hold significantly more liquid and are ideal for pooling or persistent leaks.
Can pillows be used on chemical spills?
Only yellow chemical pillows should be used on corrosives or unknown liquids.  Check the SDS to see if the spill needs to be neutralised first. Grey pillows are not suitable for acids or alkalis.
Do oil‑only pillows float on water?
Yes — white oil‑only pillows float and absorb hydrocarbons while repelling water.
How many pillows do I need for a spill?
One pillow can replace several pads. Large spills may require multiple pillows or a combination of socks and pads.
How should used pillows be disposed of?
Dispose of according to the liquid absorbed and SDS guidance. Hydrocarbon‑soaked pillows = oily waste. Chemical‑soaked pillows = hazardous waste.
