Material Summary
Polypropylene absorbents designed for hydrocarbon spills. Repels water and absorbs oil, petrol, diesel, hydraulic fluid, and lubricants.
Suitability
Suitable for managing hydrocarbon spills anywhere oil, diesel, petrol, lubricants, or hydraulic fluids are used, stored, or transferred. Ideal for workshops, warehouses, transport depots, maintenance areas, construction sites, heavy equipment operations, marinas, boatyards, ports, aviation hangars, refuelling zones, and any environment where hydrocarbon leaks or spills may occur.
Limitations
Not suitable for water‑based liquids, coolants, or chemical spills.
Compliance Note
Supports HSWA and EPA requirements for managing hydrocarbon spills in New Zealand workplaces.
PPE Kit (varies by environment)
Oil‑Only Spill Kits include PPE appropriate for the environment they are used in.
Standard PPE Kit
Used in workshops, warehouses, transport, construction, and aviation hangars. Includes: • Apron • Nitrile disposable gloves • Safety glasses • P2 respirator mask • Waste disposal bag • DG labels (general hazard classes)
Marine PPE Kit
Used in marinas, boatyards, and ports. Includes: • Apron • Nitrile disposable gloves • Safety glasses • P2 respirator mask • Waste disposal bag • Marine‑appropriate DG labels (typically Class 3)
Fuel PPE Kit
Used in service stations, forecourts, refuelling zones, and aviation refuelling environments. Includes: • Apron • Nitrile disposable gloves • Safety glasses • P2 respirator mask • Waste disposal bag • Fuel‑specific DG labels (Class 3 flammable liquid)
